Would you consider adapting WCR to also handle Legion logs?
I can provide you with some, although im not 110 yet (so no raidbosses)

I don't play wow anymore, and this tool is really not followed by enough people to motivate me to continue to support it in the future.

However, I can take a quick look: If the changes to the log can be quickly adapted I can consider to make an update.

thank you for getting back to us, it's good to hear from you again.

I have never stopped playing WoW myself, i still enjoy it very much and for me it is a way to 'escape' for a few hours and not think of everyday problems.

But of course, as with all things in life, there is an end to everything.
I wanted to thank you sooo much for creating and maintaining this fabulous program for as long as you did !!

I know it helped me and my guild through many WoW expansions and raids.
I always was the person that checked the logs to find our what went wrong and WCR was my nr1 choice, i promoted it and loved it!
Up to this day i run WoW on my left monitor screen, and WCR on my right monitor screen doing live logs!

Anyways, closing up, i will not ask you to keep working on this program since you have moved on.
Legion will likely have a good number of changes to what you last saw, not least a new class (Demon Hunter) with a new resource (Fury) that they use.

Would you mind if i have a sneak-peek in the source-code, maybe i can provide minimal support (although i the last time i worked with Delphi it was called "Delphi 3", somewhere in 1997 or about that time).

You know, adding a new class and a new ressource is not hard at all

If the log template is generally the same as before i can try to do something.
I can take a quick look, I will tell you what is doable or not.

Okay, i have zipped a combatlog of a Dungeon including a DaemonHunter

I tried opening it with the latest version of WCR but it throws an error.

Besides having a new class and new resource in there i'm pretty sure the logfile has a different layout from pre-legion.
But if you don't want to do this it is not a problem so no pressure!!

I just took a look.
The error shown is a warning because the log is not the advanced one (with Hp, Position, ressources etc)
Maybe advanced log is not available in beta, but if it is, try to activate it, so I can test the full feature.

Otherwise, everythings seems to be pretty straightforward, I will be able to make an update easily :)

I also don't know anything about the demon hunter, so I need few informations:
does this class can heal and/or can tank, and what is the name of the ressources used, if any,
also, if you are aware about ressources changes for other class.

I attached a link to a advanced combatlog (see below)

The Demon Hunters can be either tank or melee DPS (no heal / no ranged)
The DPS use a resource called "Fury"
The Tank use a resource called "Pain" (yes, this is a very positive and friendly name for a resource )

For other classes (as far as i know), no main resource types have changed, only several secondary ones are different for some classes.
I dont think you ever did anything with the secondary resources, did you? Like the rogues' 'Combo' or monks 'Chi' ?

New Spells and bosses may be not set well,  however, it's something that can be done easily by the end user: check the old faq there:  http://wowcarto.virtuaboard.com/t637-how-to-faq-and-tutorials)

-demon hunter class added
-there is small change in log: 'resolve' has been deleted, another value is unknown atm (it may be 'resolve' moved to another offset)
-Also, blizzard added a new kind of data: At each start of a boss fight there are new entries that contain the full team stats and spell specialisation. but i am skipping this for now, (that seems interesting for benchmarking site).
-the log may be buggy, spell_cast_success events are missing an offset in ressource data, I don't know if it's intended but I don't see the point
- I have also set some new ressources (like maelstrom, arcane charge or insanity)


Also yes secundary ressources (like chi etc...) are handled, but it's a bit hidden: you have to use the 'f' key to cycle between power ressources data in the detailled view. By default, WCR now tries to find the best choice.

Keep the log coming so I can fix other stuff :) (i didnt see the 'fury' clearly yet, since the DH was a tank in the last log)

actually, I found quite enjoyable to reopen the WCR source code even if I left the game itself ;)
I also realized that I put a lot of work into that tool, so if it can continue to be useful, I can take some time to maintain it and made fixes when it's needed, as long as I get feedback, of course.

PS1 how easy would it be to make a 'slider' to the playback screen, so i can 'slide' through a fight? (instead of using the j,k shortcuts i mean)

PS2 If you ever do decide come back to the game, for however small period of time, you are welcome in our guild and i will make sure you get a spot in our raids so you can experience WoW with people who still enjoy it to the fullest!

For the time line, I have to review my replay code to find the best way to manage that.
However, note that if you shift-click on the actual timeline (graphic panel) you place a blue marker that actually set the replay time (as long as it's inside the current combat block.

I also note what you kindly said about raiding with you. I actually don't plan to come back to wow anytime soon, but... who knows...

-Fixed the encounter_End event: this event can now properly end a boss fight (need to be set in boss option)
-Added a slideBar in replay view (was easier than I thought ;) )
Player death events are shown upper section of the bar
Highlighted events are shown in lower section (spell highlighted can be set in each spell options)

This is an awesome update!! That slider is amazing! Going back and forth in a fight was never this easy!
There's some small issues with it, mostly related to screenupdates but i'm not complaining

One small change to this (if possible), in the lower section could you show the filtered events (like in the graphic view)?
And on mouseover show the tooltip with the details like you do in the graphic view?
If its a hussle nvrmind, its awesome as it is now aswel

What are your issues? (you mentionned screenupdates issue). The replay is a bit demanding as it crawls and computes a big amount of events for each frame calculation, so maybe it can lag with older PC... (?)

For the mouseover/filter I am not sure. This can become messy fast, and honestly I think that setting spell highlight once for all for a given boss is far more powerful
If you don't know what I am talking about, point a spell event in the timeline, edit that spell, there are options for highlight and color setup, you can even set the given spell to be in the "avoidable" filter there. Note: You must set the nature of the highlight: damage, missed interrupt, heal, and aura stack. (it's basic: i added this last year, and didnt improve this a lot, but it's quite fonctionnal)


And if you need data for other events, just switch to the timeline, it's still there and will be far more comprehensive, imho.

I came back in wow and I made a little update to fix some issues:

-Fix and update for Wow 7.3+ Legion (the parser is not backward compatible with version below wow7.0).
-Some data are now cast in 64bits so they can handle new huge numbers (like crazy boss hp)
-Increased NPC array size.
-Included MadExcept debugging api.
